Greetings, Baldwin Street Middle School Families and Community!
I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable holiday break! We are excited for 2026 and look forward to finishing the year off with your amazing students! There are many updates in this months newsletter so please take some time to review. As always, we appreciate your continued support as we create a safe, comfortable learning environment for all of our students.
Please keep an eye on our upcoming calendar for early dismissal days, winter concerts, and events. Please also note that scheduling season for next school year is quickly approaching! All 8th grade students will be receiving an invitation from Hudsonville High School for the 8th Grade Parent Night and Showcase. Attendance to this event is strongly encouraged to best prepare your student for the transition to high school. All 7th graders will have the opportunity to begin scheduling sometime later this month or in early February. We will share more details as that date nears.
Thank you again for your continued support of your student and our school community. Wishing you a fantastic 2026!
Best regards,
Ryan Crete, Principal - Baldwin Street Middle School

If your child is scheduled in a health class during the 3rd or 4th quarter of the 2025-2026 school year. There will be an in-person meeting on:
Thursday, January 15 at 7:00 pm
@ Hudsonville High School North Campus Media Center
Park and enter @ Main Office (parking lot between Freshman Building and HS)
This meeting will outline the reproductive health curriculum your child will receive this year. Teachers will walk through the various topics and review details of the reproductive health curriculum approved by the Hudsonville Public Schools Board of Education. While health class is mandatory for all Hudsonville Public School seventh-graders, the class's reproductive health portion is by parent opt-in. This opt-in option means you have the choice to have your child participate in the approved reproductive health curriculum or complete an alternative assignment during that unit of health class. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of this meeting. While we want all parents to have the information shared at the meeting, attendance is not required for you to opt your child in or out of the reproductive health portion of the class.
If you have any questions at this time or are unable to attend and would like more information, please reach out to your child’s health teacher or building administrator. Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to educate, challenge and inspire our students each day they are in our care.
Sincerely,
Matt Baer Sarah Arringdale

Please take a few moments to review the information regarding the books in our library and the policies and procedures around restricting titles for your children.
Students won't be able to check out another book until they return or replace an overdue book.
BMS Renaissance is SOAR-ing again! All students are welcome to participate in Renaissance and help shape BMS for the better. The group spent their first meeting this year generating fun & festive ideas, including activities for an assembly that happened right before the winter break. The next meeting is January 22 from 7:15-7:45am in the BMS Media Center. Students are welcome to join at any point in the year and can walk into the meeting whenever they arrive at school. We're excited to see the positive ways Renaissance will impact BMS student culture, events, assemblies, spaces, and more this year!
