Participant Information

2ND STAGE is a program for students 9-12.

- Students ages 9-12 as of September 1 are eligible for both fall and spring shows.
- Students who are 9 by January 1 can join the spring show.

How are 2ND STAGE shows different from Mainstage shows?

- Performances are under an hour long and have limited sets, props, and costumes.
- Parents are not required to serve on committees or sell ads to support the show. Although the performance is important, the purpose is actor development.
- There are approximately 8 weekly rehearsals prior to show (some variation for each production).
- There is one performance date with two shows. Ticket prices for the performances are $3 (immediate family members receive free tickets to one performance).

Are there auditions?

- Sign up via the website.
- Everyone who signs up will receive a role.
- Auditions for specific roles will be held on the first rehearsal day for each show.
- Space is limited to 70 students per city.

Tuition Rates for StageWorks

Tuition for StageWorks is based upon the number of students for which a family is registering. The amount of "students" applies across StageWorks (1ST STAGE and 2ND STAGE) but NOT Mainstage tuition.

Refunds are possible within 10 days of registering. After 10 days, a 50% refund will be available until the first rehearsal.

Tuition includes a show t-shirt for each cast member and complimentary tickets to one performance for immediate family.

Tuition is due at the time of registration.

1 student rate: $250

2 students rate: $225/child when purchased together ($450 total)

3 students rate: $200/child when purchased together ($600 total)

4 students rate: $175/child when purchased together ($700 total)

5+ students rate: $150/child when purchased together

Rate adjustments for additional students, cancellations, refunds will only be accommodated within 10 days of purchase.

After 10 days, additional purchases cannot be combined for a discount, and will be billed at the listed rate. After 10 days, cancellations will be refunded 50% of the tuition paid. There will be no refunds following the first rehearsal date.

We encourage you to DELAY registering if some aspect is still unknown (for instance if a family member is waiting to see if cast in a Mainstage show) so you can take full advantage of the discounts upon registration.

Discounts apply across StageWorks tuition (1ST STAGE & 2ND STAGE) but NOT Mainstage tuition.

NOTE: Students enrolling in 2ND STAGE and also auditioning for Mary Poppins should register and pay for 2ND STAGE as usual. If cast in a role for Mary Poppins, you will receive a discount code for $75 off mainstage tuition.

Please note that participation in the mainstage show does require a significant parent commitment that 2ND STAGE shows do not require.

Mainstage scheduling will take into account those participating in 2ND STAGE.

Kalamazoo
