HONK! is a modern musical retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved tale of the ugly duckling. This endearing show requires a large singing and dancing cast with many featured roles for males and females 13 and older, as well as limited roles for males age 12 and females ages 11-12. HONK! is peppered with wit and bursting with heart as audiences follow the “ugly” duckling’s journey to find his home. Marvelously funny and frequently touching, this show will delight children and adults alike.
Intense and intriguing, The Clockmaker's Daughter takes us to 19th century Ireland to tell the story of Constance, a mechanical girl created by a clockmaker after the death of his daughter. Despite being instructed to stay hidden, her curiosity and enthusiasm lead her to explore the outside world. This energetic, contemporary musical explores themes of grief, prejudice, and the unknown as Constance's existence challenges the townsfolk of Spindlewood. A vibrant cast of females 13 and older and males 12 and older will be needed to bring Constance and her community to “life”.
The spunky and lovable orphan Annie charms her way into hearts as she dodges the clutches of the orphanage’s cruel mistress, Miss Hannigan. In her quest to find her family, Annie finds love and acceptance in unexpected places. Annie is a beautiful rags to riches story and songs such as “Hard Knock Life”, “Easy Street” and “NYC” follow the journey of indefatigable characters as they rise above challenges. Many strong individuals are needed for a plethora of specific acting, singing, or dancing roles. This iconic show is open to actors 12 and older, and also has a few parts for females ages 8-11.

God has graciously enabled HPA to creatively tell stories from the stage for many years! In celebration of His goodness, the current staff from all three cities will be coming together to perform When Calls the Heart. This musical adaptation of Janette Oke's novel captures the themes of faith, love, and community as Elizabeth Thatcher experiences both the joys and hardships of life in the western frontier of Canada.
