The Blurting Method - read your notes, close them, grab a sheet of refill & recall everything you can remember from your notes. Check what you may have missed! This is helpful for remembering details, such as dates/people, and quotes, as it highlights your areas of improvement.
Active Recall - try testing yourself! Use flashcards, past papers, or lecture the details to a friend. Check out our section on individual learning styles to get an idea of what form of active recall works for you.
Interleaving - If you're studying for multiple exams, actively switch between different subjects during your study session. Maybe you spend 20 minutes on calculus, and then 20 minutes on geography - it's completely up to you!
Study group - get your friends together for a study group. Choose a place with minimal distractions, such as a local cafe or the library. This is a great opportunity to test each other on your topics, and share practical advice for the exam!
Spaced practice - to avoid last-minute cramming, get started on your studying early and gradually build up to more revision leading up to the exam. Trust me, your future self will thank you!
If you have any other effective revision techniques, share them with the Academic Council!
