Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America

About FCCLA

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for students in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education in public and private school through grade 12. FCCLA offers intra-curricular resources and opportunities for students to pursue careers that support families. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in their families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education.

Today, more than 200,000 members from 5,253 chapters are active in a network of associations in 48 states, including Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The work of FCCLA helps students and teachers focus on a variety of youth concerns, including parenting, family relationships, substance abuse, peer pressure, sustainability, nutrition and fitness, teen violence, and career preparation in four specific Career Pathways. Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life—planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication—necessary in the home and workplace.

FCCLA members will strengthen skills, forge friendships, and make a positive difference in today’s world through participation in Competitive Events, serving in leadership positions, attending conferences across the nation, networking with youth leaders, and attaining essential college- and career-ready skills.

Your Contribution Can Make A Significant Difference

We are excited for our FCCLA chapter to grow their leadership skills this year.  Our chapter members are working diligently to prepare themselves for their S.T.A.R. Event Competitions (Students Taking Action with Recognition) and the leadership program called Power of One.  I am so proud of all the work that has been put in by everyone involved in our chapter.

We are collecting monetary donations to help our students attend leadership conferences, sponsor FCS Day on December 3, sponsor FCCLA Week in February, attend the State Leadership Conference in March, and the National Leadership Conference this summer.  These are amazing opportunities for our students that contribute to their life experience and career readiness.

In an effort to avoid an intermediary that would take a percentage of dollars to run a fundraiser, I think we can do this without anyone profiting off of our efforts.  It takes a community to raise our youth and a community to make our FCCLA Chapter successful, I am confident that the community of Howell will once again give us the necessary support to be LEADERS in all that we do.
