Course Description

  • This course was designed to assist with exploring careers and developing skills necessary to make meaningful decisions about their career choice. Students will be made aware that there are many factors to consider before selecting a suitable career. This course will assist the students in assessing their personal strengths and weaknesses as they relate to career decisions. This course will aid the student in developing strategies to make an effective transition from school to work. The student will develop transferable job skills in the course that are generic to all occupations.

  • Introduces students to concepts and practices to successfully manage their personal finances. The course addresses the development of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors associated with the management of family finances. DECISIONS REQUIRE ACTION. Students who take charge of their finances are better prepared to invest in themselves and cope with the financial ups and downs that life will bring. An activity and project-based approach will be used.
