Parent Communication

Parents should receive regular updates (at least every 4.5 weeks) on their child's progress.

Communicating with parents is of utmost importance in gaining the support and understanding of parents. A variety of means to reach parents may be used, including:

  • Automated phone systems

  • E-mail

  • US mail

  • Student Delivered Communications

Parents MUST be contacted for each of the following reasons:

  • Before initiating tiered interventions

  • Before discontinuing tiered interventions

  • To communicate progress every 4.5 weeks during tiers

  • In the event of a SPED referral

  • Regarding the dates and duration of universal screenings (Remind App could be used)
