Student data is reviewed on an ongoing basis by support teams at each school. Decisions about movement in tiers, referrals to SPED, changes to interventions, etc. are made based on multiple sources of data.
Interventionists and teachers can complete the dyslexia screening on students who dyslexia is suspected or are not making adequate progress in intervention.
We have the students in our group...now what? Along with our standard interventions (like Lexia Core 5) I have collected lots of additional intervention resources for reading, math, and written expression. Check out the Screening and Intervention Section for all the stuff!
If a student is is 1.5 grade levels behind, a survey level screening should be completed to figure out their skill deficits. To access lots of survey level screenings click here or visit the screening and intervention section.
Progress monitoring should be completed every 2 weeks. Most students can be monitored using STAR Early Literacy, STAR Reading, STAR Math, or iReady Math. However, if your student is not showing progress (or progress has stagnated) you might want to do EasyCBM instead so you can assess progress in the specific areas you are working on each day (instead of a collection of skills).
When everyone goes to their Tier II & Tier III intervention groups...what should I do with the rest of the bunch? Enrichment! You can find some Enrichment ideas and lots of fun stuff under the Awesome Ideas/Resources tab.
