Meet the Teacher
Morgan Schmitt
Greetings!
My name is Morgan Schmitt and I am very excited to start my first year at Lanier Middle School! I have worked in education for five years and teaching for three years. I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of South Carolina - Upstate and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from American College of Education.
In my free time, I enjoy watching sports, watching documentaries, playing with my dog Mister, and reading and investigating all things unknown to me. I just got married in June and students will see my name change from Terranova to Schmitt, so please keep an eye out for my update emails.
I look forward to having a great school year getting to know and watching all students grow!
Class overview
This course includes all TEKS for English Language Arts and Reading, which consist of reading, writing, research, listening, and speaking skills. This course provides instruction and practice in reading and writing a variety of genres to enhance students’ language skills. Comprehension, writing, and research skills are developed through a variety of activities. Students learn grammar, usage, vocabulary, and other English language skills within the context of reading and writing.
