CORE VALUE 2 ALIGNMENT: Effective teachers make the most difference in student academic performance.
High-quality instruction at Woodson has been multifaceted and impactful. Through coaching teachers during PLCs, I have established a culture of accountability and empowerment. By pushing their thinking in analyzing the demonstration of learning, supporting them in customizing their slide decks to ensure a gradual release model of the skill, and serving as a think partner for engaging students, I have fostered effective teaching practices.
I provide immediate feedback during lesson demos and at-bats to correct pacing, remove unnecessary teacher talk, and enhance the overall quality of instruction. After analyzing spot observation and IRT feedback, I created tailored professional development to address campus trends and struggles. These contributions have yielded significant results, including an increase in individual teachers' spot observation scores, an average score of 10.25 from IRT, and recognition as one of the South Division's Top 10 campuses for student growth and achievement on the MAP Test.

Over 85% of the staff were new to the NES model and struggling to internalize the Demonstration of Learning. To support teachers, I clearly defined steps to internalize the Demonstration of Learning to guide their work in delivering high-quality instruction. Now, they hold themselves accountable for customizing quality-aligned lessons to the standard and lesson objectives.Â
