FitnessGram Push Up
Looks at Muscular Strength/Endurance.
Purpose: To determine the upper body strength of an individual.
This is important because upper body strength determines if a person would be able to lift and hold different objects.
Procedure: To begin the test, the students must have their backs straight, heads down, and arms fully straight. While going down into the push up, they must bend at the elbows, and go down to a 90 degree angle. They are not allowed to let their back drop or have their stomachs touch the mat. They are to follow the cadence while conducting the test. Students are allowed one mistake before the test is over.
