We have received SO MANY ideas from our wonderful Hope Squad members about how they celebrated Hope Week. Activities range from dressing up in costumes, inviting guest speakers, participating in carnivals or contests, and signing pledges. Hope Week is the perfect opportunity to serve your community and bring light and Hope to others.
Here are some of our favorite activities that squad members have shared about their own Hope Weeks.
Like your selfie: have a Hope wall with polaroid pictures of students with quotes under them
Mardi Gras beads: each day have a different necklace that goes with the theme
Bubbles! Have bubblewrap in the hallways, pass out bubble gum and blow bubbles
Hope Grams: write letters to people and have Hope Squad members deliver them
Hope Squad members find out who has done something nice for someone else and give them a prize
Table Talk Taco Tuesday
Invite local guest speakers
Blow bubbles outside the front doors of school as people walk inside
Host a community night to kick start the week!
Clothespins: spread around clothes pins with positive messages or compliments on them that students can trade or pass around
QR code scavenger hunt
During an assembly during Hope Week have a slideshow of kind/hope messages to music and then Hope Squad members participate in a flash mob
Invite your local radio station to come and play music during lunch - have a dance competition with them
Kindness stations at lunch to encourage and help support students participating in the Kindness Challenge
Banner/pledge displayed in the cafeteria
Have a Bullying workshop before school
Messages of hope displayed outside on the fence, in the hall, over the morning announcements, etc.
Writing positive messages of what gives them hope to put on the wall
Invite a "Dunk Team" to perform
"Be a Life Saver" - go into the advisories with a positive message and share lifesavers
