Academic Opportunities is called AO in our schedule.  It is very similar to a traditional homeroom. In our case, the time must be spent on academic activities.  AO allows students to get tutoring from their academic teachers. Students are allowed to go to any teacher on their schedule, or they can choose to stay in their assigned AO. 

Approved Activities:

• Going to a teacher for help

• Studying for a test

• Completing homework

• Making up missed assignments

• Collaborate on group assignments 

• Receive peer tutoring

Unapproved Activities:

• Playing games

• Sleeping

• Socializing

• Listening to music

• On your phone
