We recognize that these are challenging times. With the threat of federal funding affecting many jobs and Native Hawaiian education programs, the path forward may feel uncertain. However, now more than ever, our culture, language, and traditions must remain steadfast. As kumu hula, we have the kuleana to uplift our haumāna and ensure that Hawaiian culture thrives despite adversity.
It is in this spirit that we extend a warm invitation and reminder to join us for the ʻAʻa I Ka Hula Competition, now rescheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the culturally rich Moanalua Gardens, Oʻahu.
This competition is inspired by the legacy of events like the Malia Craver Hula Competition and seeks to support secondary school haumāna (grades 6–12). While we are not affiliated with Kalihi-Pālama Culture & Arts Society, we are honored to have their acknowledgment as we forge our own path to uplift ʻōpio through hula, mele, and oli.

-Perpetuate Hawaiian Culture – Let us provide stability through ʻike kūpuna
-College & Career Pathways – Resource booths to guide haumāna toward the future
