Description: Stateline Robotics #4655 is part of the FIRST Robotics Competition. FIRST stands for “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. FIRST designs accessible, innovative programs to build self-confidence, knowledge and life skills while motivating young people to pursue opportunities in science, technology, and engineering. The season consists of a pre-season, build season, and post season with varying time commitments. This club is an all year program with a 90 hour time commitment and a fund raising commitment

Eligibility requirements: None

Expected time requirements per week: During the pre-season from mid-September to the end of December they required to earn 20 hours of time working in the shop. Then the official FIRST season starts the first weekend in January from that start date until early March they will be required to earn 60-100 hours working in the shop depending on their role or sub-team they choose.

To be a part of this club:We normally send out emails to existing students and also students that have indicated in some way they are interested. We will also put it in the daily announcements for about a week prior to the kick-off meeting and we hang flyers around the school. We use Remind.com to share updates and direct messaging. Meetings: Pre- Season is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 6:30 and Saturdays from 8am until noon. The official season is then Tues, Wed, Thurs from 3:30 to 8:30pm and Saturdays from 8am until 4pm. Sometimes we add mondays if needed. These are set days and times. They are not required to be there the entire time but are required to get their hours as outlined in the handbook.
