The Marching Band is comprised of the Concert Band, the Symphonic Band and the Wind Ensemble. Each fall the ensemble has a Marching Band Camp prior to the start of school. The ensemble will perform at the Purple and Gold Festival, Varsity Football Games and in a variety of parades and basketball pep. The Marching Band is a requirement for the members of the Concert Band, the Symphonic Band and the Wind Ensemble, however, members of the Jazz Band may also choose to participate with the Marching Band by fulfilling the same requirements.

3:30pm - Illini drumline public warm-up in Grange Grove. West side of Memorial Stadium.
Free and open to the public.
3:45pm - Grange Grove pregame concert featuring the Marching Illini and the Fighting
Illini Football Team. Free and open to the public.
5:15pm - Band day participants report to the seats in Memorial Stadium.
5:35pm - University of Illinois Marching Illini pregame show.

PREPARING FOR BAND CAMP
Bring your instrument in good working condition. Make sure you have mouthpieces, reeds, slide grease, etc that you need to keep your instrument working properly. See Mr. Kramper if something seems off with your instrument.
Marching Band Music, Pre-Game Music, and Drill Sheets! If you lose it or forget it, please see your section leader or print it from the website!
You must have sneakers or marching band shoes each day! (no flip flops, slides, sandals, boots, crocs, etc.)
Wear comfortable clothes for being outside
SUNSCREEN, Hats, Sunglasses! You will be out in the sun! (Apply and reapply often)
DEODORANT (Apply and reapply often!)
Shower daily before coming to camp!
HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE! (Bring lots of water! Not soda, not energy drinks, not coffee….WATER!)
Quick and easy snacks for breaks (granola bars, fruit, crackers, etc. Be sure to throw away your trash!)
Insect repellant for the evening rehearsals!
ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY! If you have a conflict, please contact Mr. Kramper directly via email to work out arrangements. Your friends and section leaders are not responsible for letting Mr. Kramper know why you are absent or late! Do not schedule work or appointments during Marching Band camps, rehearsals or performances!
