HONONEGAH MUSIC DEPARTMENT PHILOSOPHY
The music department of Hononegah High School gives the students the means to express themselves creatively and to respond to the artistic expression of others. As a record of human experience, the music department provides distinctive ways of understanding society, history, and nature. The student of music is the evidence of imagination, feelings, ideals, thoughts, explorations, experimentations, and judgments. Music involves the whole person and can be an effective means in developing desirable characteristics in all areas of growth. Music is a creative thinking process that develops “decision making” skills.

The VISION of the Hononegah Community High School Fine Arts department is to instill in our students and community a life-long passion and support for the performing and visual arts that results in personal and professional creative pursuits beyond high school graduation. (adopted in 2019)
The MISSION of the Hononegah Community High School Fine Arts Department is to provide creative curriculum, develop artistic literacy, technical refinement and engaging opportunities that will ignite a personal passion for every student enrolled in a fine arts course. (adopted in 2019)
