5th Grade AR Requirements:
18 points per quarter
One informational text or non-fiction book.
The book must be at least 2,500 words
All informational texts (non-fiction) are worth double the points
Historical fiction such as the Baseball Card series (Satchel and Me), I Survived books, do not count as informational text.
To get credit for the entire book, 60% or more needs to be scored on the quiz.
If students score 40%-50% on a quiz for a book, they will receive a reduced score based on the quiz score (e.g., if a student scored 50% on a book worth 16 points, that student would get credit for 8 points).
