Require your parent(s) to attend the Financial Aid Night on 9/25/2025.
Have parent complete the Transcript Release Form by 9/26/2024.
Create a Common Application and sign the FERPA waiver.
Link your Common Application with Naviance so your transcripts can be sent.
Request Letter(s) of Recommendation from a teacher and/or counselor through Naviance, if needed. Not all colleges require these. Fill out the Brag Sheet if you are requesting a letter!
Plan your college visits.
Meet with your counselor to discuss your college list.
Apply to college! See below for more instructions.
Fill out the Application Cover Sheet as soon as you apply.
Complete the FAFSA!
Create a Common App Account.
Login and click the “Common App” tab, Complete the “Profile”, “Family”, and “Education” sections (listed on left side of screen). Check marks will appear next to these sections when complete.
Click the “College Search” tab and add a college to your “My Colleges” List.
Click on the “My Colleges” tab.
On the left hand side of the page, click on the name of the college you added to the “My Colleges” list.
Fill out the college-specific information. You will be able to pay your application fee and submit your application through this page.
Specify how you applied on Naviance by logging-in to Naviance.
Click the “Colleges” tab and select “Colleges I’m Applying to” from the dropdown menu.
Make sure the college you applied to is listed.
In the row that your college is listed, click “Edit” and specify how you applied: via Common App or Directly to the Institution. Click save at the bottom of the screen after making this change!
If a school is not on the Common Application, you can go directly to a college's website.
Click on their admission page or "apply."

Log into your ACT account to send scores. Keep in mind, your scores were probably sent to a few schools that you selected when you took the test
