Program Details

Overview

BeforeCare provides a secure, adult-supervised environment prior to the official start time of your child’s active school day. The BeforeCare room also doubles as Holy Family’s AfterCare room at the close of the school day. The BeforeCare room offers a selection of toys, games, paper and crayons, etc. Students may also study; read; complete any work assignments they might have; or, maybe just relax before the school day truly begins! Students wishing to use this time for reading, study or homework should have the necessary materials and texts in their backpack. For safety and security reasons, with the exception of restroom visits, students are not permitted to leave the BeforeCare room or visit any other classroom prior to dismissal. BeforeCare is staffed by a HFRCS classroom teacher.

About Personal Electronic Devices

Due to safety concerns and as per school policy, use of personal electronic devices is not permitted by students during CARES or regular school hours. Also, the CARES program does not have access to Holy Family's many forms of computer and other technology at this time. Therefore, students will not have access to the school's technology resources to use for homework or study purposes while attending CARES.

Miscellaneous Info

Please ensure that students have had a healthy breakfast prior to arriving at BeforeCare. Thank you for not sending students to BeforeCare with breakfast in-hand. The program runs for just 25 minutes before the start of a very busy school day. We are not staffed for food consumption and clean-up afterward.

Lost & Found

Is your child missing anything? CARES maintains a lost & found. Younger children sometimes drop items in CARES when they first arrive and settle in. Remind them to check our bin for lost hats, gloves and jackets. Drop CARES an email if you want us to check our "inventory." Or, you can check when you stop in at pick-up. Replacing uniform items is expensive. So please, label all of your child's clothing!
