Drop-off Procedure

Location
CARES is located on the first floor of the school building. Parents and guardians must utilize the side entrance with the concrete steps accessed from the Donnelly Ave. parking lot on the side of the school building. When facing the Donnelly Ave. side of the school building, this is the right-hand doorway with the flight of concrete steps. There is a doorbell on the left-side of the doorway which you must ring to gain access to the building. The school's main/front entrance is not for use prior to the opening of the school day. The CARES door (noted above) is the only designated door for drop-off and pick-up of students attending CARES.
Always exercise caution in the parking lot!
Drop-Off Procedure
BeforeCare opens at 7:00am. Drop-off is quick and easy . . .
- Parents or guardians are to park and safely escort students to the CARES entrance (see Location above).
- Ring the doorbell located to the left of the double doors and a staff member will greet and admit you.
- Parents or guardians are to briefly step into the building with their child and sign them into the log book located immediately inside the door. Students are not permitted to write in this log book or sign themselves in for any reason.
- Parents/guardians promptly depart the building and the student will be escorted by staff to the CARES room located just a few steps away. In order to expedite your child's drop-off and for safety reasons, parents are not to accompany students to the CARES room.
There is no other door that students may enter prior to 7:25am. At 7:25am, CARES is closed and regular car and bus line drop-off procedures begin in the large, rear parking lot.
Safety
Please exercise caution regarding you and your child when entering and exiting the parking lot and building during drop-off. A number of vehicles may be entering and exiting the lot as teachers arrive for the day and other parents with children arrive and depart for CARES drop-off.
Dropping students off prior to BeforeCare's opening; driving away; and leaving students unattended is unsafe and strictly prohibited!
Additional Note . . .
. . . Please do not hand any CARES correspondence to CARES staff when dropping off your child at BeforeCare. Instead, enclose it in a an envelope marked: "Attn: CARES." Place it in your child's "homework" folder in their book bag. It will be forwarded to its proper destination.
