At Trinity, all students will live in an apartment located in The Liberties (around 25 minutes from campus (on foot) or a short bus ride). Students will have their own bedroom and share a common area & kitchen with between 4 and 8 other students. The building is equipped with a gym, game room, roof-top terrance, cinema, front-desk staff, and 24/7 security.
Students can submit Leap Card receipts for up to $150 to help offset the cost of bus travel between the apartment and Trinity
If you've been admitted to this study abroad program and need the address of this dorm, please contact Emma Meade at emeade@holycross.edu.
You need to monitor your Holy Cross email for communications from your dorm. They will send you an email asking for some basic info: Your name, date of birth, preferred email, and mobile number. Once they receive this info, they will send you another email with a link to complete your booking. You need to click on the link and pay a 300 euro housing deposit (This is fully refundable and you can expect to receive it back at the end of the year so long as there is no significant damage to your room).
Once you complete the deposit, you'll e-sign the lease, and that's it! The wonderful staff will await your arrival!
You are unlikely to be housed with fellow Holy Cross students. The purpose of studying abroad is to meet new people and to immerse yourself into a new culture and experience. Part of this experience is meeting new people in your student apartment. Be prepared to live with either Irish students, other international students, or a combination of the two!
Your room will have a bed, a desk, and some storage, similar to an American-style dorm. Your apartment will not be furnished with the following:
-Toilet Paper
-Cleaning Supplies
-Bed Linens
-Towels
-Soap
-Personal items
-Washer/Dryer
A laundry room is available for use in your building. Laundry is pay-as-you-go. Make sure you have a credit or debit card that is chip enabled so that can 'tap' you card to pay for laundry!
Your apartment is self-catered, meaning you can shop for your own food and cook it at home.
Your apartment is self-catered, meaning it includes a kitchen! This means that you will not have a meal plan, but rather you will purchase your own food. Whether you choose to buy groceries and cook for yourself or purchase food on campus, you'll need to budget for meals!
There is no meal plan for purchase at Trinity College Dublin. Instead, you can pay-as-you-go for cafes and restaurants on campus, or purchase food from the grocery store. You will not be charged Holy Cross board (ie meal plan) on your tuition bill, which is $3,925 per semester. You should instead plan to use some or all of this budget sourcing your own food during your semester or year away.
How much you spend on food depends on your personal habits. Before you go, do some googling! Figure out the average prices for your favorite foods and make a plan! This is a great place to start to get an idea of the cost of your favorite foods in Dublin.
Your apartment building has a fully equipped gym right on site!
