I am Gabriel Rocha and currently a senior at Holliston High School. I play for the boys varsity soccer team and am a co-leader at the Jesus Club here at Holliston High. It's always been my goal to be able to make an impact with an action, so i'm beyond excited to be doing this project that focuses on the things that are important to me.

Our community needs to do a better job at recognizing when students are going through mental health issues. I’ve seen first hand people being denied or neglected of their struggles just because they are “too young” to know struggle. This stereotype has to be removed from people’s heads because it’s not factual and it can make it even harder for students to reach out for help. Society's neglect of adolescent mental health needs to be fixed. This is important to me because when I went through my own struggles, there were times where I didn’t wanna speak up because I thought my feelings were invalid.
Mrs. Calais is a counselor here at Holliston High. She's a very considerate and caring person. Mrs. Calais helps many students with many different things. Best of all she is a good listener and she wants whats better for this world. Mrs. Calais and I have the same goals and I feel that's what made working together fun.
My goal for this project is to get my survey out to as many students as possible and work with the administration here at HHS to hopefully make HHS a better environment than it is already.
This is a picture of me presenting my research and some personal moments surrounding my mental health. Educating our own friends is a great way to help spread awareness.
Be someone they can talk to without making them feel judged
Express your support and concern
Little things like checking up on them daily, asking them to get out of the house, and inclusion can make them feel more belonging.
Being positive on social media and supporting others can make people feel more loved and can help them think better about themselves.
Any positivity can no matter how big or small can make a huge difference in someone's life.
