How to Earn the CSE
Requirements
The Computer Science Endorsement (CSE) can be awarded to any HHS student that completes the following requirements:
1. Coursework
Completion of five (5) credits in computer science-related coursework covering the four CSE Learning Categories (overlapping allowed):
Coding
Complex Apps
Hardware & Systems
CS & Society
These courses are electives found in the HHS Program of Studies. Additionally, some non-HHS online courses can be considered toward completion of the CSE, based on the course's curriculum.
2. Independent Project
Students will complete and present an independent project about any computer science related topic in at least one of the four CSE Learning Categories. Topics need to be approved in advance by the CSE Coordinator.
Students may choose to make the project part of their school schedule (Recommended: Course #990 Senior Project) or to compete the project on their own outside of the school schedule.
Receiving the Endorsement
Students completing the CSE program can be awarded their certficate at any of these three times:
End of Grade 11
Midway through Grade 12
Upon graduation
