Mapping Water Scarcity

Directions

Use the following maps below to predict regions of the world that could have physical water scarcity, economic water scarcity, and water abundance.

GDP Per Capita Map

GDP Per capita measures a countries wealth. The darkest blue countries are the richest, while the lightest blue countries have the lowest amount of wealth.

What observations can you make? What patterns do you see? What stands out to you? Does anything surprise you? Does anything meet what you expected?

Precipitation Map

This map shows the average rainfall for countries/regions around the world.

This map represents the size of the population in each country. Each square = 500,000 people.
