What is the difference between a professional learning community and a PD course?

In a course, one learns from an expert in a particular field. In a professional learning community, we work collaborate, and learn from each other. We walk away with shared materials and ideas, brought to the table by our colleagues in a supportive, peer group.

Do I get hishtalmut credit for this?

Yes, You receive a 30 hours, with a grade, both for Ofek Hadash and Oz Le'temura.

Who is in charge?

Each community has a lead teacher who coordinates topics, presenters, activities, food, etc. She is specially trained to facilitate the PLC, and has tools at her disposal to enrich the group dynamics as needed.
