Our volunteers give so much love to the animals in their lives, both here at the shelter and at home. This page is dedicated to the beloved pets our volunteers have cherished and lost. Though they may no longer be by our side, their pawprints remain forever on our hearts. By honoring them here and through the time spent with animals still waiting for their homes, we celebrate the joy they brought and keep their memory alive within our community.
Eddie
Eddie, an HHS Alumni, came into my life in February 2018 and left us on September 6, 2025. During those 7 and a half years, Eddie supported me through retirement, COVID and two surgeries. He was a Therapaws dog, helping at summer camps, nursing homes, birthday parties, Pet Partner evaluations and promoting community relations for HHS. Eddie was my travel buddy and rarely left my side. Eddie was proof that shelter pups can be the best.
Biscuit
She was a pretty good rabbit hunter, so-so squirrel chaser, and avid sewer sniffer. She even gained a little fame when she was featured in the photo of the week collection on the Illinois Patch.
She passed at the age of 7 back in 2023 which was much too soon, and our family still misses her. However she is the reason why I volunteer at the Hinsdale Humane Society.
Bristol
Here is a picture of my fur baby, Bristol, at one of her favorite places a few months before she passed. She crossed the rainbow bridge on 1/1/25. I decided to volunteer at Hinsdale Humane Society in her memory.
