Stay connected with fellow volunteers, get updates, and see what’s happening around the shelter by joining our private Facebook group. This space is great for sharing experiences, asking questions, and celebrating wins together. We want to hear your stories, share them with us!
All volunteers are required to complete a waiver before participating in any shelter activities. This helps us ensure a safe and informed environment for everyone. If you haven't already, be sure to complete the waiver.
Before you are able to sign up for any volunteer shifts, you must complete the required Volunteer Waiver through your account in Sustain.
To complete the waiver, please follow these steps:
Access Sustain on a laptop or iPad via a web browser (the waiver is not mobile-friendly).
Log into your volunteer account.
Click on your profile in the top right corner and select “Profile Settings.”
Under “Prerequisites,” select the waiver form and complete all required fields.
The form includes a yes/no question — both fields are required. If one option does not apply to you, please type “N/A” in that space.
Once submitted, your waiver will be saved and you’ll gain access to sign up for shifts.

We ask all new volunteers to submit a one-time $25 fee, which covers the cost of your official HHS t-shirt and lanyard. Payment can be made securely online.
