Clarence attended Prairie View A & M on a football scholarship. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Navy in 1957. He married Queen Ester Foster of Hillsboro, Texas. They had two sons, William Earl and Michael Sean. Clarence was preceded in death by Queen Ester. Clarence served the Navy for 22 years. At the time of his death he was stationed in Washington D.C. with the Defense Mapping Agency.
