The National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) is the main national qualification for secondary school students in New Zealand. NCEA is recognised by employers and used for selection by universities and polytechnics, both in New Zealand and overseas. NCEA Level 1 has changed in 2024, Level 2 and 3 have the same requirements as previous years!
Level 1 - 60 credits at level 1 or above (plus Numeracy CAA, Reading CAA, and Writing CAA)
Level 2 - 60 credits at level 2 or above (plus 20 from anywhere else)
Level 3 - 60 credits at level 3 or above (plus 20 from level 2)
Merit Endorsement - 50 credits at the required NCEA level at Merit or Excellence
Excellence Endorsement - 50 credits at the required NCEA Level at Excellence
University Entrance - 14 credits in 3 approved UE Subjects
