All students must submit their own work for assessment purposes. Different subjects will use a variety of methods to verify authenticity of work done outside the classroom setting, away from teacher supervision. These are to be discussed with the students when the tasks are assigned.
If the authenticity of a piece of work is questionable, then the matter is passed on to the Principal’s Nominee with the appropriate documents, and a summary of processes followed. The Principal’s Nominee, in consultation with the HOLA/HOD/student/family, will then make the decision regarding authenticity.
In matters where there has been a breach of assessment rules, students may appeal the decision using the appeal process.
During examinations at school students will be removed from the exam room for continued disruption. No further assessment opportunity will be offered for the standard. If a student is perceived to be cheating. This could include bringing unauthorised material into the exam room, or by copying from another student, the matter will be referred to the Principal’s Nominee and NZQA for investigation.
In all matters of misconduct the decision of the Principal’s Nominee is final.
