These resources are to help teachers effectively leverage technology to make hybrid and distance learning more efficient. Much like in the first years of the iPad program, there is so much to learn about how to use tools and systems to support strong pedagogy.
Below are weekly topics, tools, templates, workflows, and opportunities to share and practice during our time together.
Create a collaborative Google Slidedeck. Create a new slidedeck, go to File > Page Setup > Custom. The example here is 10in x 18in. Share the deck with your students so they can edit.
Use one big slide per student. The deck is for everyone to enjoy. Easy peasy!
Make an animated valentine with Keynote on the iPad.
1. Keynote for iOS project template.
2. Project tutorial video for asynchronous viewing pleasure.
Create a private Group in Flipgrid named Class Valentines. Then create a separate topic named for each student. Add students to the group, and ask students to respond to each topic by leaving a video message or creating a card with the whiteboard feature.

Environment shapes behavior. In a hybrid setting, what you show students is the biggest instructional choice you make. Be purposeful with what visuals you show to students.
Here are instructional goals, followed by the camera/screen to use:
Conversation = Meeting Owl
Direct Instruction = webcam
Demo = iPad with document camera stand
Group work = shared Google Slides in Grid Mode
Independent work = Share Screen, display directions
Tip 1: Project grid view on your TV. It makes students feel more included.
Tip 2: Double check the Mute Button.
Tip 3: Find the sweet spot for the Meeting Owl Pro. (Think: Inverse square law)
Tip 4: Second device (phone or iPad): log in with no video/audio and only use chat and manage participants
Tip 5: Don’t forget basic troubleshooting:
Turn it off and back on
Unplug it and replug it
Restart it
Let's power up our pedagogy! We have lots of ideas about what to share with you for professional learning around hybrid, asynchronous, and remote pedagogy, but we also want to hear from you. Please complete this brief Google Form.

Monitor and facilitate Breakout Rooms on video calls with a collaborative Google Slidedeck.
@edcamposjr shares: "My favorite Zoom Breakout room hack is to drop a Google Slide link in a Zoom chat, break them out (Breakout Room #1 goes to Slide #1, Breakout 2-> Slide 2, etc..), then put it in Slide Sorter view to see who's on task & who isn't (or lost), so you can jump in to help."
Use this customizable Google Sheet as a student assignment tracker. It's an easy template for noticing patterns in student work!
