Most simply, Eduprotocols are assignments that are collaborative scavenger hunts. They leverage existing Google tools, so there's nothing new to learn. They take a framework/protocol/visual thinking map that we're accustomed to, and make it digital, relevant, and collaborative.
All of the templates below are from the EduProtocols templates page, as well as the images, descriptions, and templates.
Iron Chef, modeled after the Iron Chef Cooking shows, is a student centered, gamified jig saw (with accountability) that is used to cover content and connect to standards. Students read, synthesize and create, and present to their peers.
Students work in partners through this structured pair share with accountability.
If you are new to using protocols and want to try one out, this is an excellent starter!
Circle around to this protocol over and over to crunch through your content!
The Peanut Butter and Jelly EduProtocol is a modified Cyber Sandwich for use with younger students.
Guided note-taking is the key.
Since writing is still a high cognitive lift for K-2nd (and sometimes 3rd) taking notes during reading is challenging! By the time students add notes to a page, they are done writing!
In this protocol, the note taking step is a class-wide collaborative effort with the teacher recording the notes on the board. This collaborative effort allows the teacher to model note taking with an emphasis on key ideas and the central messages during reading or watching a video.
Students discuss their plans for writing prior to the actual writing. This eliminates the cut and paste of text from one slide to the next and keeps students on one page only.
As soon as students are able to comfortably cut and paste text, move them into Cyber Sandwich.

All students really need to engage through EduProtocols and spark creativity is a blank page and your content!
