This developmental step is very important when it comes to moving to High school, so we may begin to work on interdependence with year 6 before they leave Hillary to help them transition into the next stage in their education.
Below you will find some examples of activities that may help transition to a new school:
We may taker you on or advise you to take a virtual tour of your new school.
This may include checking out their website, prospectus, looking on google maps, using the transition materials provided by the school.
Sometimes pupils find it hard to be positive about themselves and they concentrate negatives and worries.
Taking notice of your successes, strengths, talents and interests will build resilience, self-esteem and confidence ready for your new start.
Challenging yourself to new opportunities and challenges pushes you outside of your comfort zone - this allows you to recognise and understand the feeling of new experiences and builds your confidence. This will allow you to develop a sense of your self and your capacities.
