District interns are new teachers earning their CA preliminary credential while teaching and they rely on a mentor to help them navigate the first and second year of this journey.
Thank you so much for being the most essential part of our intern program. While interns take vital classes, the most authentic learning occurs with you in their daily practice. Thank you for giving so much of your time and heart to nurturing this learning community.
Please begin your mentor journey by attending our mentor orientation. Mentor Orientation will take place on August 13th from 4-5 pm. You can also view a recording of the orientation & slides here. Please also see our Welcome Intern Mentors letter for a concise list of requirements.
Mentor Requirements
Mentors are required to conduct 12 Observations over the course of the school year
Mentor trainings will take place online and will go over mentor requirements and provide tips on how to be an effective and supportive mentor for a new teacher. Please calendar the following meetings.
