The process for this project it we took a quiz to see what our growth and strengths were. The next step to this project was we took the strengths and growths and applied it to math. We took another test to see what our personality test and see if it was really describe us. The main goal for this project was to learn more about yourself for example like the way you learn. We also had to write about our story about math like where we were at and how far we came.
The process for is it fair was we had to choose a topic of 2 different topics and see if it compared or not. The topic I choose was " Are Black People getting Killed More Then White People." The answer I got while doing my research is that Black people are not being killed by police more than white people.
The process for the bottle rocket was we got into groups of 4 and we all choose a roll to do. My roll was to time the rocket with it went up and stop it when it touched the ground. My second job was to do the slides about the process on how we made the rocket. The next step for the bottle of rocket was we painted the rocket purple and put purple dots all around. Then we made the cone nose with cardstock and put duck tape all over it. The process to make the 3 wings is we cut them out of cardboard and wrapped them around with duck tape. Then after we finished the rocket we had to test them and see how high it went up.
My Strength are talking to my classmates and working together with them when needed to. I feel like this is a very good thing because I always try and make the group work less awkward.
My areas for growth are making sense of problems and persevere in solving them. I feel like I struggle with this a lot because when I see a problem I don't understand I just give up and don't even try to do it or ask for help.
My spring goal is to ask for help when I am stuck because I tend to not ask for help when I am stuck. I know this is really bad to do but I'm trying my best to get better at asking for help when I need it.
The process for el folleto was that we choose a country in mexico and learn new things about it such as there culture, the weather, money, ect. The process was really easy we gathered all the info about our country then made a folleto on a website called Canva. The next step was checking with a friend if everything looked good such as grammar. The last step was presenting it in Spanish to the whole class and showing them what you learned about your country.
The process for the letter to self was we had to choose something that affected us in the beginning, and we learned how to grow. We also had to choose something in the world that happened connected with the year that the challenge started. For my topic I choose when my brother was born. For the real word topic, I choose Obama care because the year that Obama care started was the same year that my brother was born. I took three weeks to create this essay. It was a really fun process to create this.
For the linocut process we had to go to Bread & Salt to create our linocuts. For the design of the linocut we choose something that was related to out "letter to self". The design I choose for my linocut was a tree because to me a tree represents growth and also family. To make the linocut was pretty hard because we had to be really careful with the knife and it was difficult for me to do the lines of the tree.
The process for the poems was we were reading example poems for a week. Once we read the poems, we had to copy the same format of the example poems we read. The two poems I wrote were really meaningful to me because they both talk about my family and how I grow up. we had to do two drafts of each poem to get it to a spot where we really liked them. We made these poems to share them with families at exhibition to show what is important to us.
During winter exhibition we all had jobs we choose my job was working with our classmates to create a cafe in our classroom. It was a really fun process because we got to combine with our other half of the team and create something for out exhibition. The role I was assigned to was bringing the right amount of bread to see and see how much we were going to sell the bread for. We had to reach out to local cafe shops to see if they would like to donate any coffee or any bread. Overall, I feel like this made exhibition really fun because we were free in other words to set up something we wanted to
