Our Anza Borrego History Mural was the first mural we did. It is divided into two halves. On the top half is our personnel experience. We see elements like some UFOs that some kids allegedly saw. A slice of Julian apple pie or a sand art snail by my friend and I. The bottom half depicts 6 million years of history in Anza borrego. Prehistoric animals such as a 13ft long walrus and a 11ft tall camel. As well as the original inhabitants of Anza Borrego, the Kumeyaay.
Scary Stories
This assignment was interesting. Since we were going to camp, an assignment we had to do was to write a scary story. I was really excited because I'm a pretty big horror fan. But I ended up struggling a bit, the horror I like (junji ito) relies heavily on the amazing visuals. So I took a different direction. Instead of paranormal I wrote a piece about burning alive. It turned out quite graphic. As well as disturbing me considering I did not think I could write something like.
This mural depicts many of the events that took place over our 4-day camping trip at Camp Cuyamaca. Though the mural is quite impressive this photo focuses on the square I painted. I choose the vulture and I think it turned out really good. We had to trace, photoshop, and color it. It was tough but I think it looks really nice. It also helped that I understand geometry pretty well.
The geometric design card is the math accompanying the mural piece. The design card shows how each piece of the mural came to be. As well as the design annotations, showing the math that went into the mural piece.
The ropes course model card explains the math behind our ropes course model. It explains our first draft and how we improved it. As well as the math behind it. We also added some creative elements to it as well. (ie the Totoro)
This ropes course model is well, modeled after an element on the OC county ropes course. I think my partner and I did a really good job in executing this project. After creating it we decided to add more creative elements, like painting it and making origami birds and rabbits. I think this project demonstrates my ability to work in a team.
This project is a documentary about my partner's (Sam's) experience during the 4-day camping trip to Camp Cuyamaca. To make this we took videos of our partners before, during, and after the camping trip. We then put them together, made voiceovers, and added a B-roll as well as subtitles. Overall I think this is a cool project and it shows how I can do things well even if I have little prior knowledge about it.
The essay was about what we learned over the many field trips/epic journeys. My essay is about how I got inspired by San Diego scenery again. I think I did a great job on this essay. I don't want to say anymore as I don't want to spoil it. You are welcome to click on the link and read it for yourself.
This sign was my own design that was displayed on the photo wall next to the pictures we took on the OC ropes course. I am really proud of this because it was really hard and I had to learn new skills. Like adobe illustrator and do a lot of drafts which was challenging. I'm really happy with how it turned out.
This assigment was to make an artistic interpretation of the map of an area we walked around. We used photos of textures from the area and photo shop to create this work piece. Although challenging I think this turned out really awesome.
This writing piece is a short paragraph about a certain moment we felt on the ropes course. We also had to use words that corresponded with the 5 senses. (or six if you can see ghosts) We had to make it as immersive as possible. I think this turned out pretty well!
