The desmos self-portrait was a self-portrait made by graphing individual lines to trace a photo of ourselves. Each line was a separate equation we had to figure out and connect. I am especially proud of this project given the amount of time and effort that went into it. As well I really enjoy the end product.
The dear math letter was a letter we wrote about our relationship with math. We bolded words we thought represented our feelings for math. Feel free to read the rest of the letter here. docs.google.com/document/d/1oNrYc0yzogf3oQIpRgK7TOPcUyDKr0FzrHdzFQNh7xE/edit
This project was what we thought was an American hero. I choose to do a hero inspired by American folklore. Such as Paul Bunyan, Jhonny Appleseed, and wild bill coyote. I'm also very proud of this project. The image is completely photocopied with elements from different American folk heroes. While the writing is about my own American hero, Frontier Man.
This year in math we created an identity card. We made different types of graphs using data gathered early in the year. We then related the information back to ourselves to create an identity card. We finished it off by adding a color scheme, photos, and a paragraph about ourselves.
This picture was taken in the camera obscures we made. Camera Obscura is a darkened box with a hole that projects an image through the aperture. The camera obscura is very important in the history of photography. We made our own and took them to the bay to take photos. This was a very cool project and we learned a lot about the science of early photography.
Another project we did in science was a pinhole camera. We got cans and poked a pin-sized hole in them. we stuck photo paper inside exposed it to light and covered it up quickly.
