For the 2nd semester, we focused on quadratic equations and functions. For our final project, we made project sheets that invited guests to solve a function on their own. To do this project we created our own functions. We then solved them and graphed them onto an aesthetically pleasing project sheet. In the end, this assignment not only turned out pretty looking but allowed me to make sure I thoroughly understood the math within it.
One of our projects in Spanish was to create a folleto, AKA a brochure. We were assigned to create a brochure completely in Spanish about a Spanish speaking country. (As well as Portugal and Brazil.) Included in the folleto was a multitude of things. Including the climate, currancy, recommendations, cultures and more. In picking the country of Spain I learned many things about the country. Including the culture, cities and musicians from the country. (Like Los del Rio brothers, the sang the Macarena!) I acquired a better grasp on the Spanish language through this project as well as all about the country of Spain.
Another project we did in Spanish was a "Yo Soy" or I am poem. We wrote poems in Spanish. I personally wrote it first in English then I translated it into Spanish. This assignment was a challenging one as I am not fluent in Spanish but I think I was able to pull it off. Writing poetry in a different language is a new way to experience and learn said language and I think that it was really special and helpful in my Spanish learning journey.
One of the first projects we did in English was a music and me timeline. In this assignment, we went through the years and picked a song to represent each year or so of our lives. I am a music lover so this project was so much fun for me. I had a fantastic time picking out songs that I felt represented each year of my life. Including Atarashii Gakko's Otanblue to represent my freshman year. A Japanese group that was introduced to me by one of my closest friends. Another song I picked was the song Be Prepared from the Lion King soundtrack. This movie was my absolute favorite when I was little so I just had to pick my favorite song from that movie.
For our final project in English, we made a magazine. We submitted edited and eventually printed out our magazine. It was a lot of work but I'm proud of our final product. My poem is featured in the picture here but feel free to click on the link below to see the full magazine.

Our main essay for English was an analysis of a song. For this essay, we chose a song and analyzed the lyrics and poetic devices used within the song. I decided on the song Evidemment by La Zarra. This song was chosen as the French entry to the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest. Although this song is completely in French and I had to translate it (I enjoy making things more difficult for myself than they need to be) Despite challenges with inaccurate translations and language barriers I am thrilled about how this essay turned out. This song is so stunning and I'm ecstatic to share this song with more people. Feel free to click on the photo to read the essay.
