Day 1: Put a bird on it. Using iNaturalist find birds in your area. Try to capture a photo of that bird.
Day 2: Using the bird photos that you took make a bird collage as decoration for you birdhouse.

Follow this suggested time frame for your Asynch Work: **If you haven't done the Birdhouse Template with digital joinery do that first!**
Day 1: Transfer model into sketchup and apply your digital joinery.
Day 2-3: Continue in sketchup.
Day 4: Email Sketchup File to Mr. Shane so he can laser cut a prototype.

Day 1: Laying out your parts. When cutting parts out it is best to prepare a layout for how each part will be cut from the whole piece. Watch the loom video for further explanation. **This step is crucial and must be done before you can start cutting your pieces.
Day 2: Continue to work on your layout.
Extra time? Finalize your birdhouse design, for extra credit research a specific bird to make the house for. What bird is your birdhouse for? Check the list below. Make adjustments to your design for the specific bird. (mainly the size of the hole and interior.)

Follow this suggested time frame for your Asynch Work:
Day 1: Create scrap models, sketches or sketchup designs of a mostly original laser cut birdhouse.
Day 2-3: Continue designing or making your model.
Day 4: Finalize and Submit your designs for a critique on Friday. Create a copy of the feedback form below and be ready to share your ideas in small groups.

Follow this suggested time frame for your Asynch Work:
Day 1: Double check your Design, are there any parts missing? Use a ruler and add measurements to your birdhouse design. Make a paper model of the actual size if thats is helpful. Visualize what your bird house would look like in parts. Layout those parts on a piece of paper or in sketch up.
Day 2: Carefully pay attention to the type of material we will be using. Laying out your parts in the wrong way can mean you loose material. Using the assigned dimensions create a scale drawing of how your parts will be laid out on your material.
Friday: Submit your layout and parts list to google classroom. Mr. Shane will be purchasing material this week for the next round of birdhouses.

Day 2: Create multiple drafts of your idea. Use perspective in your drawings.
