One of the first assignments we did in the 2nd semester of 10th grade was the elements of self mini project. It was easy and only took a day, but it was nice to do a small project like this to get back into the swing of things. Enjoyment: 9/10
Shortly after we finished the Elements of Self project, we were assigned a compound that played an important role in WW1 and instructed to make a small poster about it. I was given sarin, which I found to be interesting because it was invented while scientists were attempting to make stronger pesticides. Also, it was not used in WW2, unlike many other chemical weapons that were invented at the time. Enjoyment: 7.5/10
At this point in the semester, we haven't done any major projects, until we began our Ionic vs Covalent mini-project. I had a ton of fun with this one because I tried to think outside of the box, and I think I succeeded. Pretty much everyone else made theirs on paper, but I chose to make mine in Minecraft. I found an unblocked version and got to work. I had to showcase how ionic and covalent bonds work, among other things. Overall this project was awesome. Enjoyment: 10/10
As a part of our chemistry exhibition, me and Nathan partnered up to make a slide deck about our chemical reaction: handwarmers. It was easy, as we just had to import a theme and make the slides that Michael asked us to. The only difficult part was the stoichiometry, but it only took half an hour to completely finish. Enjoyment: 5/10
Our only major project that we had to do for Humanities was writing an outline about the UDHR. More specifically, how a certain rule, law, or other institution violates a specific article of the UDHR in the U.S., abroad, or in the state of California. I chose to write about article 7 of the UDHR, and how the state of California violates it. Next, we put all of the information we gathered on a professional looking slide deck. In the interest of not taking too much of your time, you can check it out here. Enjoyment: 7/10
A little while after we completed the slideshow for exhibition, we turned our outlines into a full, complete essay. I found it quite easy because I have a solid amount of experience when it comes to writing essays, not to mention that nothing new had to be written in this case. I think doing this was interesting because it made reading my essay very different compared to the slideshow and outline. Enjoyment: 6.5/10
For the first and only major project we did for math is the Visual Patterns Step mini-project. I collaborated with Trey and we were instructed to explain step patterns, tables, and more. It was pretty easy but I enjoyed it. Enjoyment: 8.5/10
