In early February 2023 we went camping at Anza Borrego. A few weeks later we created a mural about our experiences and adventures there. Also, we included some things we learned a bit later when we reflected on our experience, such as animals that lived in the region. We went on the trip because we wanted to experience how it was like to live in the region. I think the trip succeeded because of how cold it was and that gave me a glimpse of the hardship the people who lived in the area for so long. I enjoyed climbing the mountain and setting up my tent with my friends, and I overall made a lot of positive memories. Enjoyment: 10/10
This was the hardest project we made this semester, and similarly to the graphic novel, it took a few weeks of really hard work. I partnered up with Oliver and interviewed him about his experiences in our Lake Cuyamaca trip. We used canva for the project and it sucked to use, to put it lightly. Enjoyment: 6/10
In March we embarked on another Epic Journey to the Orange County Ropes Course. I couldn't conquer my fear of heights and didn't end up finishing the course but the experience was still fun as a whole. A little while after we recreated a part of the course with wood, paint, and other simple materials. We created a poster that detailed the forces that would be applied on the part of the course we created, which was pretty fun. These are technically three different projects/journeys, but their enjoyment was the same for me. Enjoyment: 10/10
In math class this semester we created a mural with GeoGebra to document our experience in Lake Cuyamaca. It was really fun to make it and it was a homerun of a project overall. I hope I'll be able to do projects like this next year! Enjoyment: 11/10
I made a part in the Geometric Mural that's Roger carrying a tent. I chose this because it was a funny part of the Lake Cuyamaca Journey. It was pretty fun to make from start to finish. I learned how to paint, sharpie, and coordinate with others. It was super satisfying to see how it all came together in the end. However, the annotations were annoying to do and the writing was mid at best. Also, I learned that GeoGebra absolutely sucks. Still overall really enjoyable though. Enjoyment: 8/10
We made this short film a little while after we came back from Anza Borrego. It served as a sort of precursor to the Lake Cuyamaca film which is nice. It would've been a lot harder to just jump into the Cuyamaca documentary if we never did this, not to mention that this was a good oppurtunity to reflect on our experience at Anza Borrego. Enjoyment: 7/10
I liked this assignment a decent bit because it was most of what made the other annotation style assignments good and less of the bad. This being said, it still had a bit of the bad parts, i.e. the repetitive stuff. Nonetheless, it was satisfying to finish off and I enjoyed it a lot. Also, it wasn't GeoGebra. Enjoyment: 9/10
