Highline reads: Susan Rich and Arcturus

Join us for original poetry from English Faculty Susan Rich and Highline's literary journal Arcturus editors.


Friday April 9

12 P.M. - 2 P.M.

Poetry Workshop: Poetry Around the World

Student-led workshop using writing exercises to explore the versatility of modern poetry.

Fe Hadley:

Fe Hadley is currently a Highline student working towards her AA. She wants her voice to be heard and feels like poetry is the best way. Hadley is currently working on writing a book of poetry.

Jenn Ngeth

Jenn Ngeth is a student at Highline College currently working towards her AA transfer in Communications. She hopes to teach English to children internationally while finding her own voice in the poetry realm

Poetry with Susan Landgraph and Celeste Adame Reading & Workshop

Susan Landgraf:

Susan Landgraf was awarded an Academy of American Poets Laureate award in 2020 to produce a book of Muckleshoot poetry. The Inspired Poet, a poetry writing exercise book, was published by Two Sylvias Press in 2019.

Celeste Adame

Celeste Adame, Muckleshoot, received her MFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts in 2015. She is currently revisiting her thesis "Lovers Landscape."

Vising Poet: Jericho Brown Reading & Workshop

Jericho Brown, raised in Louisiana, worked as a speechwriter for the Mayor of New Orleans before earning his PhD in Literature and Creative Writing. His poems have appeared in a wide range of publications, including The New York Times and The New Republic. Brown's books include Please, The New Testament, and The Tradition, for which he was awarded the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry

National Poetry Month Virtual Reception

Student Poetry Contest Winners & Favorite Poems

Readings by Highline's Poetry contest winners, Faculty & Staff, and Students.

This virtual reading and workshop was sponsored by the Academy of American Poets on April 15th.


On April 22nd, Pulitzer Prize winner Jericho Brown held a virtual reading and workshop. 

2021 Poetry Reception to honor Poetry Contest Winners


On April 28th, Highline (virtually) hosted their 9th annual National Poetry Month Reception to honor the winners of the poetry contest.
