Welcome Back Everyone.
All parents of children at Cannich Bridge Primary are automatically members of our Parent Council Forum. From this, members are elected to the Parent Council role. This is a great opportunity to meet other parents. The Parent Council has an important role to play in the school and ensures that you have a say in your child’s education. The head teacher attends the meetings and will explain the improvements and developments which are taking place in school. The Parent Council also plays an important role in helping to fundraise for the school. In these tight financial times school budgets are feeling the pinch, the extra funding from the Parent Council enables school trips to take place, extra resources and equipment to be bought for your child.
A copy of the latest Parent Council minutes are sent home shortly after a meeting. Any parent who wishes to raise an issue to the parent council can do so by contacting Gavin Steel by email: Gavin_steel @outlook.com
The current Parent Council Joint- Chair is Holly Williams and Eleanor Forster, Joint Secretary is Gavin Steel and Charlotte Berrington and the treasurer is Sam Oxby.

Dear all,
Please find the draft minutes of the Parent Council meeting at the end of last month attached, including Mrs Reynard's report. Have a read through and let us know if you've got any questions at the moment.
In the short-term, there are a few things you might be able to help with, two of which have come up since the meeting:
Since the meeting, we've realised via Caroline and Sam that is is our turn to do the refreshments at Sports Day. Any help with serving teas, coffees, juice and lollies at the end would be much appreciated
We're aiming to hold organise a prize draw over the summer, with the draw taking place at the Craft & Produce Show in early September. Before we print the tickets, we need to approach local businesses to secure some good prizes - the best prizes will be printed on the tickets, and others will be listed on a poster. Christina has very kindly offered to coordinate this, so if you're able to help, please drop her a message. As tickets may be sold to visitors and/or friends and relatives who don't live locally, prizes would ideally be vouchers or other things that can be posted if need be.
The family of Jimmac and Kate Mackintosh have let Mrs Reynard know that they would like the profits of the annual Jimmac and Kate Ceilidh to benefit the school this year. The Ceilidh will be at the Hall on the evening of Saturday 5th July and they have asked if parents could help to run the bar, with potential to divide the evening up into shifts of an hour or two. If you can help with this, please can you let Mrs Reynard know.
I'll send an email with one further request in relation to the school portacabin, which anyone might be able to help with - but particularly those of us with children currently in the P1-4 class.
Last but not least, just to note for your diaries that an organisational meeting is planned for 6pm on Tuesday 26th August to finalise arrangements for this year's Craft and Produce Show, which will be held at the Hall on Friday 5th September. The Parent Council AGM will be held at 6:30pm on Tuesday 7th October. Both meetings will be at the school.
January 2025
Big Thank you to the Parent Council without all the fundraising they have organised this year we would not have been able to upgrade our playground with two new sandpits, x3 hand made wooden mud kitchens, x2 wonderfully large wooden planters and a lovely wooden water tray.
We are very lucky.
Halloween is behind us and...we are officially just 4 weeks away from the Cannich Christmas Fayre! (Sunday 1st December, 1pm to 4pm at Cannich Hall )
November is a great time for a bit of a clear out...and the Parent Council will again be running a pre-loved children's book stall so that some of your favourite characters can come off any dustier shelves and out of storage for fresh adventures !
Free up some space, pass on the joy of great stories and help the Parent Council raise funds for the school - what could be better than that?
If you have any children's books that are in good condition and you think another reader could enjoy, please drop them off for Karen Steel at the school, any time between now and Friday 29th November. Thank you for all your support - and please spread the word about the Fayre too.

Wow, what a brilliant evening we had on Friday! We were taken aback by how many fantastic entries we received for each category. The judges had such tough job on their hands! The venison burgers and hot dogs went down a storm, and we sold so many raffle tickets!!
A huge THANK YOU again to everyone that donated the amazing raffle prizes, we really were spoilt for choice this year.
And lets not forget a huge thank you to everyone that helped with the organising, the set up, the tidying up, the serving, the judging, and anyone who gave up their time to join us and spend their hard earned money at our fundraiser.
And finally one last thank you to our parent council. Without your support, time, ideas and passion for the cause, our wonderful little school wouldn't be what it is today.
I can confirm the Craft and Produce show 2024 raised a grand total of £1178!
RAG BAG
Good morning, the rag bag bin has now been emptied again.
As always thank you for your donations, every bag is turned into money for the school!
Thanks.
