There are many challenging educational and training opportunities within the high-skilled world of Marketing. Learners need a solid background in communication, math and technical skills. Education and training can be obtained in high schools, technical colleges/institutes and universities.
Along the way, career guidance professionals assist learners in assessing their educational goals, interests, abilities and skills to facilitate a good match to the cluster's many pathway options. Learners participate in relevant educational opportunities framed in the context of the cluster. They gain knowledge and skills through coordinated workplace learning experiences such as site visits, job shadowing and internships. If they choose, they may achieve valuable skill certifications that lead to employment. Colleges and universities offer advanced degrees and industry certifications that prepare learners for professional and technical careers.
This diverse Career Cluster prepares learners for careers in planning, managing and performing marketing activities to reach organizational objectives.
Employment Outlook
According to the latest statistics, there are about 15.3 million jobs in the marketing cluster, one of the largest in terms of jobs. Median annual wages for these occupations range from $18,960 for cashiers to $123,220 for marketing managers. Advertising, marketing, promotions, public relations and sales managers hold more than 600,000 jobs. Employment opportunities for retail salespeople are expected to be good. Individuals with a college degree or computer skills will be sought for managerial positions in marketing management, professional sales, merchandising, marketing communications, and marketing research.

Comet News : Our club reports on school, community, and real world events and issues. Its goal is to give a voice to the students.
Comet Shop: School Store
E-sports: To promote positive interactions between students that play video games, explore career and collegiate opportunities surrounding e sports, and begin the process of creating a Hicksville E Sports team that can compete for local and regional competitions and scholarships.
FBLA: FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America. It is the largest career student business organization. It helps high school students prepare for careers in business and other fields through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs. It teaches career and life skills, creates memorable bonding experiences, is a resume builder that looks great on college applications, and offers many other opportunities to expand real-world skills.
National Honor Society: NHS does community service while maintaining grades above a 93 GPA, creating leadership within the school and community. We do collections for local organizations, each of the students do their own volunteer projects, we help PTA groups with needs throughout the year, create projects within the school to benefit students, etc.
Student Government:
The promotion of democratic purposes and procedures.

Video Production: Hicksville High School Video Production Club Statement Of Purpose
1) Primarily after school production related work such as the recording of HHS-NEWS and various special school related events and theatrical productions.
2) To provide students with the time, facilities, instruction and support necessary to not only further explore the many technical and non-technical aspects of video production, but to help the students develop exemplary work ethics, and strengthen their communication, socialization, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Yearbook Club: The Yearbook Staff is responsible for the design and layout of the High School Yearbook. As well as managing finances and distribution of the High School Yearbook.

Career pathways provide a context for exploring career options at all levels of education. Career pathways link student learning to the knowledge and skills needed for future education and employment.

Marketing communications employees plan, coordinate and implement marketing strategies, advertising, promotion and public relations activities. Because of the importance and high visibility of their jobs, these individuals often are prime candidates for advancement.

In small firms, the owner or chief executive officer may assume all advertising, promotions, marketing, sales and public relations responsibilities. In large firms, which may offer numerous products and services nationally or even worldwide, an executive officer directs overall advertising, promotions, marketing, sales and public relations policies.
