Policies

• All students are required to be dressed out in the required PE uniform everyday. Dressing out is part of your grade!

• This includes:

  • 7^th and 8th grade – School issued uniform OR Plain GRAY T-shirt and black athletic shorts.

  • PE Leggings ($15), PE sweatpants ($15), PE hoodies ($20), and drawstring bags($5) are also available for purchase.

* These Ranchero PE items may be worn in place of shorts and t-shirt. Your bag may be used to take your PE clothes to and from school for washing, etc.*

**Leggings, sweatpants, sweatshirts etc, worn individually, are not acceptable unless your PE short and PE shirt are over top of them. **

• PE Clothes should be cleaned weekly. Take your uniform home on FRIDAYS and bring them back on MONDAYS.

• For hygiene purposes, DO NOT borrow other student's PE clothes.

• PE shirts ($10) and shorts ($10) can be purchased through the bookkeeper in the office before school, at lunch, or after school.

• Students may borrow clothes 5 times per semester. Upon the 6^th and subsequent attempt to borrow clothes, they will be subjected to progressive disciplinary action by administration.

• It is the responsibility of the student to have their clothes at school each and every day.

• Be responsible and get your clothes washed over the weekends and brought back on Mondays.

• In order to check out loaners you MUST exchange a personal item (other than an electronic device) for loaner clothes. We would prefer that you exchange one of the following items: bus pass, ID card, or Renaissance card.

**ALL LOANER ITEMS MUST BE RETURNED AT THE END OF THE PERIOD.**

**Referrals will be issued for ANY student using their 5 loaners in one semester OR arriving on their number without dressing out. THERE IS A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR STUDENTS WHO REFUSE TO DRESS OUT.

**Progressive disciplinary action will take place by administration for non-suit referrals.

**The reason we dress out is for hygiene purposes; please make sure you are properly prepared for each day of PE.

• Parent and Doctor’s notes excuse student from activity only. Students are still required to dress out unless physically unable to change (example: cast on leg, back brace…) If your student is not able to participate in PE, they will need to work in the library each day until their doctor notes expires. If they are able to walk or do alternative physical activities, they can stay outside with the class.

• Anyone who is out longer than a month will be referred to our health tech and counseling team about an alternative class for the student until their note has expired

• Parent Notes for restricted activity are limited to THREE NOTES per semester. Each note will be limited to THREE CONSECUTIVE days. If more time off from activity is needed a doctor’s note with an explanation by the doctor, detailing limitations, is required.

• Because this is a participation class, all absences (FOR ANY REASON), must be made up in order to earn the daily points that were missed.

• Students are responsible for getting the make-up assignment from their PE teacher. Please refer to the make-up work page for assignments when you are gone from class. You will have as many days as you are absent to make-up any work that you have missed.
