Properly caring for your school-issued Chromebook will help to keep it in good working condition for the life of the device (up to 3 or 4 years) and help you avoid any additional fees due to damage or loss/theft. Follow the pointers below to insure your Chromebook stays happy and healthy!
Do not eat or drink when using your Chromebook.
Keep your Chromebook away from liquids, such as sinks and pools.
Make sure your hands are clean before using your Chromebook.
Keep your Chromebook free of permanent markings, such as engravings and permanent marker.
Do not remove the Henry County Public Schools asset tag from the Chromebook.
Close your Chromebook when not in use and make sure to remove all items from the keyboard, such as pencils, before closing the lid.
Secure your Chromebook when not in use to prevent it from being stolen and/or damaged.
Keep your Chromebook away from extreme temperatures.
Do not leave your Chromebook sitting on the floor, in a chair, or on a bed.
Do not place heavy objects on top of your Chromebooks.
If using a backpack or other case for your Chromebook, make sure to place the Chromebook in the case in such a way that other objects, such as books, are not applying pressure on the Chromebook.
Hold your Chromebook by the base and not by the lid or screen.
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the Chromebook.
