Help!

If you are having trouble with your device and you have been unable to troubleshoot it yourself, you can go to the help desk located in the library media center. Follow the check-in procedures at the right and be prepared to describe the problem you are having.

Loaner Devices

Should the problem you are having require that the help desk keep your device, you will be issued a loaner. If you are not a Day User at the time, you will be allowed to take the loaner home.

Help Desk Check-In

  1. Scan or enter your Chromebook’s bar code tag at the help desk computer station.

  2. Enter your login password.

  3. Take your Chromebook to the help desk staff for assistance.

Common Problems - Self Help

The screen is zoomed in.

If you screen is zoomed in, but you can see all window icons, such as the close button or the status area, hit Ctrl-Shift-0 (zero) to return to normal view.

If this does not fix your problem, you may have turned on the accessibility feature to zoom and pan your screen. To disable it, move your mouse pointer all the way to the lower-right until the screen pans over to the status area. Click the status area and select Accessibility. You should see a green check mark next to Screen magnifier. Click this to deselect it.

The screen is turned sideways or upside-down.

Hit Ctrl-Shift-refresh until the screen is right-side-up again. The refresh key is the circular arrow at the top of the keyboard.

Damages

Report any damages to your device to the help desk as soon as possible. The first incident of damage each year is covered by the Chromebook fee.
