Earth Science - College Prep
In this course students will utilize science and engineering practices. Examine the complex nature of Earth systems including composition, structure, processes and history. Connect the study of Earth's composition, processes, atmosphere, freshwater, oceans, and its environment in space. Explore the relationships and interactions of Earth’s atmosphere, freshwater, and oceans. Examine and explore cosmology and astronomy and the evolution of the universe.
Oceanography - College Prep:
This class builds upon content taught in Earth Science, but with a focus on ocean processes, geology, and chemistry. We focus heavily on human impacts to the oceans and the results. Most of the 4th marking period is focused on marine biology.

Mixed Coursework
Pre-requisites: Earth Science
Astronomy - College Prep:
This course expands on concepts introduced in Earth Science, with a deeper focus on the structure, formation, and evolution of the universe. Students explore celestial motion, stars and galaxies, cosmology, planetary science, and the tools astronomers use to study space. Emphasis is placed on scientific reasoning, data interpretation, and understanding humanity’s place in the cosmos.

Mixed Coursework
Pre-requisites: Earth Science
Biology - College Prep:
Study life on earth, including: biochemistry, cell structures, cell processes, ecology, genetics, classification, evolution, germs/disease
Instructor Led
Mixed Coursework
Pre-requisites: Most students have taken and passed Earth Science
Biology - Honors:
This is an SOL course, and all students in the Biology class will need to take the Biology SOL even if they already passed the Earth Science SOL. This class has lot of labs that require students to work with others in the classroom, critically think, and includes a lot of vocabulary. The assessments for the course are SOL style multiple choice, as well as application based free response questions. Honors Biology is considered a "Pre-AP" course as it dives deeper into content students do not need to know for the SOL, but will for AP Biology. We cover 10 Units throughout the year which starts with microbiology, and ends in macrobiology!

Pre-requisites: Earth Science
Bio 2: Anatomy and Physiology - College Prep:
In this class, we study the structures of the human body and how they function. Topics include: terminology, integumentary system, muscular system, skeletal system, lymphatic/immune system, circulatory system, respiratory system, nervous system, digestive system, urinary system.
Instructor Led and Self-Paced
Mixed Coursework
Pre-requisites: Need to have taken and passed Biology 1. Also should have passed the Biology SOL.
Biology - AP:
AP Biology is a college-level high school course focused on core biological concepts like evolution, cellular processes, genetics, and ecology; taught through inquiry-based learning and hands-on labs, preparing students for the rigorous AP exam that tests scientific practices and knowledge in both multiple-choice and free-response formats.
There is a ton of individual prep required by the students; expect 2-3hrs/week for lab analysis, self guided notes, and other accessory work required for successful passing of the AP Exam
Mixed Coursework
Pre-requisites: Honors Biology, Honors Chemistry, Algebra II (10% of the exam is math based)
Environmental Science- AP:
This rigorous, college‑level course examines the scientific principles, processes, and data that explain how the natural world works—and how human activities influence environmental systems. Students investigate ecosystems, biodiversity, population dynamics, land and water use, energy resources, pollution, and global change.
Coursework emphasizes scientific inquiry, field and lab investigations, data analysis, and evidence‑based problem solving. Students evaluate real‑world environmental challenges and explore sustainable solutions through case studies, modeling, and applied research.
The final marking period focuses on global change, environmental policy, and preparing for the AP Exam.

Mixed Coursework
Pre‑requisites: Honors Biology (recommended)
Chemistry - College Prep, Honors:
In this course students will utilize science and engineering practices, conduct experimental and analytical laboratory investigations, and investigate reaction rate, thermodynamics, redox reactions, stoichiometry, kinetic molecular theory, gas laws, atomic structure, periodicity, bonding, colligative properties, and equilibrium.
It is strongly recommend students have previously taken Algebra 2 in order to succeed in this course.
Physics - College Prep, Honors:
In this course students will utilize science and engineering practices, use algebra, inferential statistics, and trigonometry to understand and solve physics problems and investigate force and motion, kinetic molecular theory, energy transformations, wave phenomena and electromagnetic spectrum, light, electricity, fields, and non-Newtonian physics.
It is strongly recommend students have previously taken Algebra 2 in order to succeed in this course.
