*Current ACE Center students completing a 2-year program should NOT use this form*

ACE Centers use a lottery selection process where eligible students will be randomly selected to fill our program openings. Eligible students must have earned enough credits to qualify as a Junior (10+ high school credits) prior to the start of the 26-27 school year.  Prior to completing this application, it is strongly recommended that you fully review our application directions page to ensure you understand all program requirements, some programs have course, age, and GPA requirements. DEADLINE: This application will close on November 14, 2025 and students who met this deadline will be notified of their application status by January 8, 2026.

Google does not permit forms to be saved for editing. If you choose, you may answer the questions in a word document and then copy and paste answers into this form once you have completed your responses. Please be sure you are signed into your HCPS account prior to applying. Emails provided will be used for notification of status with the application. Only one application per student should be entered, however, if a 2nd application is submitted, the most recent application will be honored and previous submissions canceled.

NOTE: If you applied to an ACE Center in your 8th grade year and were accepted you do NOT need to re-apply here. Our ACE Center Counselors are visiting your homeschool during the week of September 15 - 19, 2025 to collect your 1st & 2nd program selections. 

2. Additional Program Requirements:

In addition to the programs noted above, several programs have additional requirements for acceptance as noted below. At the time of application, to be eligible for acceptance or conditional acceptance, you must have either completed the course requirement with a "C" or better OR be currently enrolled in the course with a "C" or better. Students currently enrolled in the course requirement may be offered conditional acceptance with the understanding they must meet the requirement below by the end of the course to be eligible the next year for the ACE program. Failure to meet this requirement will result in ineligibility of the program.

• Cosmetology - Pre-requisite Requirement: Biology "C" or better 

• EMT - Pre-requisite Requirement: Biology "C" or better ; and, Algebra I "C" or better

• Home Health Aide - Pre-requisite Requirement: Biology "C" or better ; and, Algebra I "C" or better

• Master Barbering - Pre-requisite Requirement: Biology "C" or better

• Nurse Aide - Pre-requisite Requirement: Biology "C" or better ; and, Algebra I "C" or better

• Pharmacy Technician - Pre-requisite Requirement: Biology "C" or better ; and, Algebra I "C" or better

• Physical Therapy - Pre-requisite Requirement: Biology "C" or better ; and, Algebra I "C" or better

• Sports Medicine - Pre-requisite Requirement: Biology "C" or better ; and, Algebra I "C" or better

• Vet Science - Pre-requisite Requirement: Biology "C" or better ; and, Algebra I "C" or better

*High Tech Academy:

If you are applying to the High Tech Academy, this is a dual enrollment program with Virginia Commonwealth University and Reynolds Community College. Upon acceptance into the program, there will be additional steps that must be taken in order to be eligible for VCU and Reynolds. The dual enrollment program requires students to maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA and students must have passed Algebra II or higher with a 'C' or better. Students may be required to complete a math placement test during the summer as required by the institution. Students and families will be invited to an important information meeting in early spring to review all the requirements and paperwork required. 

*Practical Nursing: Students MUST be a rising senior or current senior, and you will also need to complete the application process for St. Mary's Hospital School of Practical Nursing. * Teacher Apprenticeship Program: This is a dual enrollment program with Reynolds Community College. Upon acceptance into the program, there will be additional steps that must be taken in order to be eligible for Reynolds. Applicants must have an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible for the TAP.
